ASPIRE ART AUCTIONS, CAPE TOWN: ART ADMINISTRATOR

This paid 3-month internship, with the possibility of a full-time contract thereafter, will appeal to someone interested in the art business who is prepared to start at entry level and grow along with this expanding business.

ASPIRE ART AUCTIONS, CAPE TOWN: ART ADMINISTRATOR

Tasks include assisting the Director and Senior Art Specialist with:

  • setting up Cape Town offices and auction premises
  • developing client and key industry relationships
  • sourcing consignments for and generating sales through auctions
  • cataloguing and catalogue production
  • logistics and archiving
  • development of the database
  • preparing media releases and images for dissemination to various media
  • website, online platform and social media development and maintenance
  • liaising with photographers
  • general administration

Requirements

  • BA Fine Art with History and Theory of Art or equivalent
  • A love of art, an interest in the art market and the ability to work well under pressure
  • Good interpersonal and excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Photoshop
  • Driver’s license

Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30 to 4:30. You may be required to work overtime occasionally.
Remuneration commensurate with qualifications and experience.
