GDC offers a range of degrees, honours degrees and higher certificates in various design disciplines including graphic design, multimedia design and interior design.

Design Center College of Design Courses Offered

Greenside Design Center is an internationally recognised design education institution. We offer world class qualifications in graphic, multimedia and interior design. Our programmes are focussed on nurturing creative and innovative thinkers that can be leaders in their field.

We offer Bachelor’s degrees, honours degrees and higher certificates in various design disciplines.

Each of our programmes are designed to be the perfect balance of practical application and academic study to produce students that can stand up to any design task. Whether you choose our graphic design course, multimedia design course or interior design course, our curriculum is modelled on workplace scenarios to give students a practical understanding of how they can use their skills in the real world.

Our graphic design courses are focussed on teaching the fundamentals of great visual communication. Students can enrol for a BA graphic design or BA honours graphic design in this programme.

Our multimedia design courses are for anyone interested in interactive and computer-based work that communicates a design message. Students can enrol for a BA multimedia design or BA honours multimedia design in this programme.

Our interior design courses teach the critical elements needed in the application, art and construction of indoor environments. Students can enrol for a BA interior design or BA honours interior design in this programme.

Greenside Design Center also offers a one year higher certificate in Design Thinking.

The first step to becoming a fully qualified and sought-after designer is to let us know you’re interested in enrolling with us. Complete the short form on the left, and we will contact you to set up an individual interview at a time convenient to you. Apply today!

ADMISSIONS CRITERIA

For the degree programmes:

Completion of National Senior Certificate with entry into Bachelor degree programmes.
A minimum of 60% in English as a first or first additional language in school
An ability to analyse and communicate ideas and concepts through a visual medium, to be demonstrated through an existing portfolio or by completing a drawing exercise at the college

For the Higher Certificate

Completion of National Senior Certificate with entry into a Higher Certificate
A minimum of 50% in English as a first or first additional language in school

Then, simply:

Call the Greenside Design Center reception at 011 646 1984 to make an appointment for an interview

On day of interview, bring along the following with you:

Certified copies of your ID / Passport,
Latest school results or academic record
An art or design portfolio (photos of artwork can also be assessed), or a drawing exercise can be done during the interview)

If you are accepted and want to register, you will need to

Complete the Reservation Form and pay the Reservation Fee
Await correspondence from GDC in December regarding formal registration that will take place the following January.

What if you are currently completing grade 12?

Follow the process above, using the latest grade 12 results you have (for example 2^nd term report). GDC can accept you provisionally pending your final National Senior Certificate.
