Elgin Cool Wine & Country Food 2017

Elgin Wine Valley shall be celebrating the end of harvest season with their annual Cool Wine and Country Food festival. The event is due to take place from 29 – 30 April 2017 at various estates in the Elgin Wine Valley.

Elgin is the coolest wine growing region in South Africa. Due to its high altitude, wine producing is a slow, somewhat ardous task. However, the patience of the winemaker is rewarded by the varietals of wine that are harvested. These varietals have an incredibly distinct aroma and taste.

Each participating wineries will have their own unique program, allowing visitors to tailor-make their own wine tasting experience. All of this can be enjoyed in the tranquil surrounds of Elgin, and is certainly a welcoming break from the hustle and bustle of city living.

The list of participating wine farms will be released soon.

Attendees can look forward to sampling wines fresh from the harvest as well as award-winning vintages. Some of the valley’s finest chefs will be cooking up a storm in the kitchen, making for an unparralled culinary experience. While dining on gourmet food and sipping on fine wines, take note of the wraparound views that surround you. In between drinking and nibbling, relax on the verdant lawns while listening to live performances by local musicians.
