Job description

Spintelligent part of Clarion Events, one of the fastest growing, most innovative conference and exhibitions organiser in the world), is looking for freelance conference producers based in Cape Town.

This contractor will be doing desktop and telephonic research in order to draft a programme according to the market/industry of the power sector requirements. The position requires speaker acquisitions and speak management to the lead up to the event.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Research, develop and write the content of conference programmes
  • Select, invite and secure high level speakers to cover all the key topics
  • Work closely with the team to identify and secure support from relevant parties, draft copy and content for marketing.
  • Provide speaker support at the conference to ensure smooth running of the programme
  • Compile regular pre-event build up milestone reports and post event summaries
  • Speaker budget management

Competencies required within the role:

  • Above average verbal and written communication skills
  • Analytical attention to detail combined with some creativity
  • Deadline driven with strong time management and multi-tasking skills
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and negotiate
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team

 

Requirements

  • One to two years of conference producing experience, preferably in the B2B environment
  • A relevant degree or qualification with English and/or communications as a major subject
  • Must possess a valid passport and be willing to travel into Africa
  • Knowledge within the Power sector advantageous
