SALARY : R84 096 per annum (plus benefits)
CENTRE : Odi district hospital Mabopane
REQUIREMENTS : Minimum of ABET Level 4 /Grade 9 with one (1) year experience and knowledge
of pottering or mortuary service in hospital environment. Ability to work shifts and
extended hours. Be able to work in a team environment. Adhere to Occupational
Health and Safety regulations as well as Infection Prevention and Control
Principles. Skills: Problem solving, Good communication (written and verbal),
report writing, ability to work under pressure and Knowledge of code of conduct.

DUTIES : Transporting of Patients into Ambulance. Assist patients who are unable to walk
to and from private cars. Accompanying walking and non-walking patients;
prepare wheel chairs and stretchers for readiness from all different areas.
Transporting of corpses to mortuary. Checking of mortuary gauges, inspecting
stretchers daily before use; removal of soiled linen from stretchers and
wheelchairs around the hospital; cleaning of mortuary floors, fridges, cooled
room, wheelchairs and stretchers. Assisting private undertaker for collection of
corpses, filling of BI 1663 document and mortuary register. Assisting relatives with
identification of corpses and making sure that corpses are labeled correctly.
