PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Assist with the implementation of an integrated health and wellbeing program for Tugela mill.
REPORTING TO: OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH NURSE – TUGELA
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with the provision of a professional occupational health and primary health care service in the operation, within a legal, ethical framework, to ensure a healthy, productive workforce.
- Assisting with the implementation of health policies and procedures and ensuring compliance with all relevant legal requirements.
- Ensure maintenance, replenishment and coordinating of emergency care and first aid.
- Assist and educate the employees regarding Health and Wellbeing matters.
- Participate in relevant committee structures. e.g. Health and Safety, EWB, peer educators.
- Assist with medical waste and inventory control.
- Assist with general administrative tasks e.g. filing, updating relevant Microsoft and SAP programs.

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
- General Nursing Assistant qualification/Basic Ambulance Assistant
- Certificate in Spirometry and Audiometry
- First Aid level 1
- Current Registration with the South African Nursing Council
- Code B Driver’s License
- Computer literacy (Word & Excel)
- HCT Counseling
- At least 3 years in an Occupational Health environment.
