PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Assist with the implementation of an integrated health and wellbeing program for Tugela mill.

REPORTING TO: OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH NURSE – TUGELA

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with the provision of a professional occupational health and primary health care service in the operation, within a legal, ethical framework, to ensure a healthy, productive workforce.
  • Assisting with the implementation of health policies and procedures and ensuring compliance with all relevant legal requirements.
  • Ensure maintenance, replenishment and coordinating of emergency care and first aid.
  • Assist and educate the employees regarding Health and Wellbeing matters.
  • Participate in relevant committee structures. e.g. Health and Safety, EWB, peer educators.
  • Assist with medical waste and inventory control.
  • Assist with general administrative tasks e.g. filing, updating relevant Microsoft and SAP programs.

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

  • General Nursing Assistant qualification/Basic Ambulance Assistant
  • Certificate in Spirometry and Audiometry
  • First Aid level 1
  • Current Registration with the South African Nursing Council
  • Code B Driver’s License
  • Computer literacy (Word & Excel)
  • HCT Counseling
  • At least 3 years in an Occupational Health environment.
