South32 Jobs 2017 : SUPERINTENDENT ANALYST & IMPROVEMENT MAINTENANCE

POSITION SYNOPSIS:

The purpose of this role is to ensure compliance with the Maintenance strategy for the defined operational area, effective maintenance management, direction and continuous improvement in a safe and sustainable manner through planning and execution.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Serious contenders will have a Degree/BTEC/ National Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering together with 5 years’ experience in Maintenance of which at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
• Government certificate of competence (Mines & Works or factories) is an added advantage;
• Registration with Engineering Council of South Africa as a candidate or professional certificated engineer is an added advantage;
• Computer literacy in MS Office and in depth knowledge of SAP is essential.

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Manages the necessary repairs, maintenance and installation of machines to ensure continuous production at the operation through the maintenance strategy;
• Assists with planning and implementing improvements;
• Reviews and discusses new products, equipment needs and modifications with Line Managers;
• Provide inputs to and indorse maintenance plans, strategies and programs;
• Develops and implements methods and procedures to ensure optimal performance of resources;
• Reviews Maintenance reports and statistics to plan and recommend changes to maintenance activities;
• Accountable for all legislative requirements applicable;
• Implements and monitor regulatory controls on mine operations under their immediate control.
