SMAC Gallery currently has two positions to fill: Curator and Gallery Manager in Stellenbosch, and Intern in Cape Town
1) CURATOR & GALLERY MANAGER: SMAC GALLERY-STELLENBOSCH
SMAC Gallery is looking for highly motivated individual to join their team on a fulltime basis in Stellenbosch. To be filled as soon as possible
Responsibilities:
- Managing the gallery programme
- Exhibition co-ordination from conception to installation
- Artist and client liaison
- General administration and office duties
- Receiving visitors and fielding enquiries
- Cataloguing, logistics and archiving
- Project based work
Requirements:
- Applicable Tertiary qualification
- Necessary experience
- Highly organized, with good interpersonal and excellent communication skills
- Computer skills (Word, Excel, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator)
- Driver’s license
Working Hours:
This position is a full time position – 5 days a week as well as some Saturdays. You will be required to work overtime occasionally. Remuneration commensurate with qualifications and experience.

2) INTERN : SMAC GALLERY-CAPE TOWN
SMAC Gallery is looking for highly motivated individuals to join their team on a part-time basis in Cape Town. To be filled as soon as possible
Responsibilities:
- Assistance and support to the Gallery Manager
- Receiving visitors and fielding enquiries
- General administration and office duties
- Assistance with cataloguing, logistics and archiving
- Assisting with the installation of exhibitions
- Project based assistance
Requirements:
- Applicable Tertiary qualification
- Good interpersonal and excellent communication skills
- Neat and presentable appearance
- Computer skills (Word, Excel, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator)
- Driver’s license
Working Hours:
This position is a part time position that will require the Intern to be present for three full days during the week, as well as some Saturdays. You may be required to work overtime occasionally. Remuneration commensurate with qualifications and experience.
